Awards: The SheEO recognised in 40 Young Business Leaders List

Thursday, April 12, 2012

I am humbled and honoured to be included in the list of 40 Young Business Leaders announced last week by CPA Australia's premier magazine, INTHEBLACK.  This recognition is a validation of the need for greater gender balance in our workplaces and communities - work that is clearly needed and that I'm only too happy to chip away with :-)

The judging panel included James Strong, the eminent Australian businessman and Woolworths chairman and John Cahill, CPA Australia President and Chair, and I'm delighted that the critical role of gender balance has been recognised in the Awards process.

Unfortunately though - and I have to say it - only 9 out of the 40 business leaders listed are women.  So we have a ways to go here, too.  Nonetheless, 22% is better than the female representation on our boards, executive roles and CEO positions...

Congratulations on your being included in the CPA 40 Young Business Leaders! This well-deserved inclusion might go some way to recognising your marvellous ongoing contribution to your commitment to advancing women as leaders in corporate life and in the
wider community. I trust this will promote your cause and sustain your efforts.
